Our Mission
A Knight’s Rosary exists to support the Knights of Columbus by providing Rosary meditations, prayer resources, and devotional materials that help Catholic men deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ through His Blessed Mother.
Inspired by St. John Paul II’s call to a New Evangelization, A Knight’s Rosary equips Knights of Columbus councils with Rosary meditations, recordings, and devotional resources that encourage Catholic men to lead prayer, strengthen their families, and live their faith with conviction. These resources are also shared with parishes and families seeking a deeper life of prayer.
The Rosary is a prayer that helps us contemplate the life of Christ through the eyes of His mother.
— St. John Paul II
Our Story
A Knight’s Rosary grew out of a simple but profound experience of prayer.
In 1990, while on pilgrimage to Medjugorje, J. Gary Kuntz found the mysteries of the Rosary coming alive in a new way as he prayed. During those times of prayer, reflections began to form so strongly in his mind that he found himself opening his eyes to write them down.
After returning home to Castle Rock, Gary was asked to serve his Knights of Columbus council as Church Director and to lead the pre-meeting Rosary. When the council’s usual meditations were no longer available, he began using the reflections that had grown out of prayer. Those meditations quickly resonated with fellow Knights and became the foundation for what would later be shared more widely.
As the work continued, the ministry expanded from written meditations into audio recordings and broader distribution. Over the years, the council sent out more than 10,000 booklets along with tens of thousands of tapes, CDs, and later editions of the original work. What began as a personal response to prayer became a lasting effort to help others encounter Christ more deeply through the Rosary.

The Ministry Today
Today, through Mother Mary Ministries, A Knight’s Rosary continues its mission of serving the Knights of Columbus by developing Rosary meditations, recordings, and devotional resources that encourage deeper prayer, stronger Catholic leadership, and greater devotion to Jesus Christ through His Blessed Mother. These resources continue to be shared with Knights, their families, parishes, and communities throughout the country.
As the ministry continues to grow, new materials are actively being developed. Gary’s current work includes a fifth set of Rosary mysteries, additional audio recordings, and new reflections designed to help Catholics pray the Rosary and other traditional devotions with greater understanding and purpose. The ministry is also developing Our Catholic Faith, a presentation created to help address the growing need for faithful Catholic formation and to encourage a renewed commitment to the teachings of the Church.
Whether leading a Rosary before a council meeting, praying with family at home, or encouraging others in the faith, our hope is that these resources will strengthen the mission of the Knights of Columbus and help all who use them grow closer to Christ through the loving guidance of His Blessed Mother.
